ロトスコープのプロセスにコラージュの手法を取り入れ、複数の映像から動きをトレースし、抽出した断片的な運動を組み合わせることで構成した作品。“運動のデペイズマン”をコンセプトに、元の文脈から切り離された運動同士が、タイムライン上で予期せぬかたちで出会うことで、新たな詩的な運動の生成を目指した。インスタレーションでは、50のループアニメーションを用い、空間に応じて可変的に構成される複数のモニターまたはプロジェクションによって展開される。
This work incorporates the technique of collage into the process of rotoscoping. Movements are traced from multiple video sources, fragmented, and then recombined — a method conceptualized here as a “displacement of motion (dépaysement).” By allowing these decontextualized fragments of motion to encounter each other unexpectedly on the timeline, the work seeks to generate new, poetic forms of movement that deviate from their original meanings and shapes. In its installation format, the piece consists of 50 looped animations, presented across multiple monitors or projections that are spatially adapted to each exhibition site, creating a flexible and immersive configuration.
